Some of the best logos in my opinion use negative space.. The day I found out the NBC logo was actually a peacock I wanted to meet the designer... very clever!

I also enjoy logos that use negative space. The old Big Ten athletic conference used the negative space in this logo to highlight the fact that they had expanded to 11 teams.
